Personally, I prefer the flexibility of flip-flops to the rigidity of a body cast.
From the AP:
"[Keith] Appell, the GOP consultant who said Clarke's testimony hurt Bush in the short run, said he believes Democrat John Kerry's problems with credibility eventually will overcome any damage done to Bush. Leading with a multimillion TV ad campaign, Bush is trying to cast his Democratic rival as a flip-flopping opportunist. "
Repeat after me:
+Better a flip-flopping opportunist than a demagoguing monomaniac.
+Better to atttempt to give everyone what they want than to just give your parents and your pastor what they want.
+Better to try to have your cake and eat it too than to hold onto it as it goes rancid.
+Better to make all decisions based on public opinion polls than to make all decisions based on personal gut feelings.
+Better adaptability than consistency
+Better a complex, brilliant leader than a steady, simple leader.
All of the criticisms Bush makes of Kerry are not really criticisms, they're really just examples of how Kerry is not like him!
We need to turn the debate. Kerry is not like Bush. Bush has some good qualities, but Kerry has better qualities.
Help me try and figure out how to turn these apparent weaknessses of Kerry's character into what they really are, oversimplified strengths of his character.
