Pearls for Phil Angelides... Part TWO...

on friday, i posted a diary with the following challenge:  for whichever kossack makes the highest donation to the campaign of phil angelides for governor of california, between friday, august 10 and friday, august 17 - i will give a strand of pearls valued at a minimum of $500.  (my original diary is here and the original diary started with a strand equal to $200, but if the donations succeeded in topping $100 per individual, i would give the higher value to the highest contributor!)

I have decided to sweeten the pot and offer a second strand to be given from a random drawing of EVERYONE who contributes (and sends me an email confirmation fromt the campaign) - even if the contribution is only $1.01!

i hope that this grass roots effort will help compensate for the greed of the angela bradstreets and haim sabans who choose to support schwarznegger because they are "tired of being taxed".  that selfish attitude of the very wealthy means that those of us in california who are living on the edge will not only have to pay MORE than our share, we will have to pay THEIR share as well!

for those of you who wonder why i am doing this - it is simple...

i have no available cash - every cent i earn goes back into stock to make more pearls!  so, i cannot make a cash donation, but i CAN offer this incentive to those who DO have available cash!  i can offer you a reminder of why we are doing this... we are trying to turn the pain and suffering caused by those currently in control of our state and our nation into something that eases that suffering and that pain. we are trying to change our america into that which is once again beautiful and peaceful!

so, help me and all of us turn california into the beautiful state that she can be - and in doing so, take an opportunity to have something beautiful to remind you of why we are doing this!

the rules are simple!  donate to the phil angelides campaign.  email me the confirmation of the donation at takebackcongress2006 at gmail dot com.  at the end of the week - there will be two strands offered - one for the highest bidder and the second will be given to a random drawing from all the names of those who contributed.  it doesn't matter the amount for the second strand - it just matters that you give something!  

if this works - i'll do it again for other candidates!  it is one way i can help beyond my means and it is a way that you can have some fun while making that difference!
