I'm getting really irritated by outdoor advertising behemouths like Lamar, Clear Channel, and their ilk refusing Democratic and Progressive adversiting:

The businessman in me sees the hundreds of thousands of dollars-- perhaps even millions-- in advertising revenue that these right-wing corporations have refused to accept, and I smell opportunity.
I think I could make a business case for a Liberal (or at least non-censoring) Outdoor corporation.
Would this fly? I mean there are enough news stories about corporations like Clear Channel refusing to carry paid, legal advertising. Add up the numbers, then estimate how many more there would be waiting if a new outdoor company started buying up billboard space and actively marketing it to Moveon, the DNC, bloggers, liberal campaigns, etc.
If this sounds similar to the business case for Air America Radio, you're probably right. But in this case we can put some hard numbers to it. We know who our potential customers are, and can call them up and just ASK them: "How much do you think you'd spend on Outdoor if you only would be allowed to?". Then take those numbers to investors, and line up some capital.
An election year is coming up. How many millions of dollars of business opportunity is sitting fallow here?
Just on first look, I think this is a profit opportunity. But, alas, I come from the high-tech business and I know nothing about the Outdoor business. Anyone have any ideas? If you know what you're doing and want to start a company doing this stuff, I'll be glad to shill for you.
