This diary isn't about Gannon or Social Security or even anything very political. I'll probably get some replies telling me to delete or get over myself, but I'm willing to deal with that because I need your help.
I quit smoking on Friday. I'm 24 and have smoked for 3 years, about a pack a day. I want to quit now while I'm still young, before it takes a serious toll on my health. And to be honest, I don't want wrinkles and nasty skin and teeth when I'm older. I also quit because my significant other quit due to health reasons (doctor's orders) and I want to be supportive.
Right now I'm feeling pretty evil. I'm using the patch but it's making me feel sick and I still want to rip someone's face off. So I need some help. I want to hear why my quitting is sticking it to Big Tobacco. Recently there was talk of having a dKos support group called PQRS, progressives quitting republican smokes. There was lots of good info in that discussion about how smokers support nasty Republican executives and their causes. Can anyone provide me with that info again? Feeling like I'm sticking it to The Man might make me feel less like beating up innocent bystanders.
I would also love to hear successful quitting stories, like how much better you feel and how much money you've saved.
Thank you.
