So its been a long hall, dozens and dozens of people have been considered for Dean's VP. Many have been eliminated and many votes have been held. And we have a decisive winner.
The condorcet polls that were in my diaries on Kos produced the following results:
- Richardson
- Clark
- Graham
- Edwards
- Rockefeller
The one-shot condorcet poll was the same except that Edwards beat Graham.
Richardson beat Clark narrowly (39/45)and the polls disagreed about Edwards and Graham so really I think the candidates fall into three tiers.
Richardson/Clark
Graham/Edwards
Rockefeller who really is even with a lot of others who didn't make it to the condorcet round
So, are you happy with the results? Are you satisfied that we have made the right choice?
I'd like to thank Carl Nyberg who started this poll and Chris Bowers who made a lot of really helpful suggestions including the condorcet poll idea. Its been fun but even if (as I hope) Dean loses the nomination to Clark this will still be useful. We have, deep in the bowels of my diary, a huge list of names that have been considered. I reprint them now so that people can use them for other VP speculation:
Biden, Joe; Cantwell, Maria; Clinton, Hillary; Conyers, John; Durbin, Dick; Feinstein, Diane; Gephardt, Richard; Harkin, Tom; Kerrey, Bob; Lincoln, Blanche; Levin, Carl; Locke, Gary; Moseley-Braun, Carol; Napolitano, Janet; Pelosi, Nancy; Reid, Harry; Richards, Ann; Rubin, Robert; Schroeder, Pat; Schumer, Charles; Shinseki, Eric;
Spitzer, Eliot; Stabenow, Debbie; Vilsack, Thomas; Young, Andrew, and Sam Nunn, Marcy Kaptur, Jesse Jackson, Jr., Evan Bayh, Patty Murray, Tim Wirth, Gary Hart, John Lewis, Anthony Zinni, Warren Rudman, John Breaux, Max Cleland, and Russ Feingold.
So do you think Richardson was the right choice?
