Count me unimpressed by this latest run on terror, presented by the government run by "Bush's Poodle" Tony Blair, and highlighted by our government, which is currently getting their asses kicked in Iraq, and supporting another nation that is finding the going difficult in Lebanon, while being accused of war crimes by much of the world.
How convenient. The movie about the World Trade Center just came out. 60% of Americans want us OUT of Iraq. A majority of Americans did not want us taking sides in the Israeli/Lebanon conflict. A major warmonger/Bush lover just got his ass handed to him in Connecticut.
So now they up the ante.
I listened to Michael Chertoff at this morning's press conference. No, he could not say that they have already constructed any bombs, although they had many components. No, he could not say who they were, although they were probably linked to Al Queda, since they were organized - using the assumption that only one terrorist group in the world is organized. Alberto Gonzales, that little worm, the same rhetoric as always - "These people get up every morning determined to kill innocent men, women and children, and go to bed every night, thinking the same. WE will protect you."
No mention, of course, that 9/11 happened on Bush and Condi's watch. I am tired of them getting a pass on that. I am tired of having my strings pulled throughout the last 5 years, with red, orange, yellow, threats, death, go hide under your bed. And I am tired of listening to the sniveling cowards that the Republicans have become, and encouraged other Americans to become also.
So while there is no real point to this diary, I just wanted to get this off my chest. I no longer trust my government when they say that the big, bad wolf was trying to kill me. I am suspicious of their motives, even when it might be a real threat. And I think that is the worst fall-out for me from 9/11, besides from my husband's health issues, is that when Bush used that tragedy for his own war of choice, he destroyed the trust of many Americans in the validity of what the government tells us. I will never trust my government again, and perhaps that is a good thing.
