There's still a problem here with the very resource-intensive Kos comment system (and web page itself...by FAR the slowest loading page I visit). I am not able to post comments anymore. I can enter a comment fine but when I hit the "Preview" button, poof! All gone. I get a refresh of the page I was trying to comment within and no message to preview and post. It is lost into the bit bucket of the internet. This is the ONLY way I can post here!
How about a little less jazz and sparkle and a lot more clean, fast-loading page? And a messaging system that works. Haloscan is reliable, for instance.
I have a ethernet connection at work and a DSL connection at home. Both systems are linux-based with Konqueror as the browser. Javascript is enabled (and I do believe that it is javascript that is consuming huge resources here). Work system is Pentium M laptop, 512MB RAM, ATI Mobility graphics. Home system is AMD64, 1GB RAM, Nvidia 7800GT.
DailyKos slows down not only the current window, but any child windows or tabs that I open. If I want to browse other sites with any speed, I have to open up an entirely separate browser instance, which performs normally.
