This question:
Why, Mr. Bush, when General Shinseki recommended 200,000 troops to win the peace, did you ignore him and send only 100,000?
... is the key to the election.
This point needs to get out and into the debate questions - or into Kerry's responses.
By ignoring his military experts in the Army and in the State Department, Bush created the quagmire. It neccessitated the use of tens of thousands of private (halliburton-like) contractors, who our limited troops now must protect.
The boarders are not secure - too few troops. Weapons are missing and in the hands of the insurgents - too few troops.
Both of the beheadings over the past two days are of private contractors. These DEATHS ARE A DIRECT RESULT OF BUSH IGNORING HIS GENERALS AND SENDING TOO FEW TROOPS.
Why, Mr. President, did you ignore General Shinseki in February of 2003, when he TOLD you it would take 200,000 troops to win the peace in Iraq?
Why?
