I don't know why I'm thinking about this now, but recently there's been a lot of comparing the other side to Nazis... be it moveon.org comparing the President to Nazis, or O'riley comparing Moore to a Nazi propagandist, either way, it's really starting to tick me off.
I don't care that the President might be offended, or people could be offended for him on his behalf, or the same in regards to Mr. Moore; my problem lies with the dilution of the impression of the Nazis. The president, as much as I disagree with him, as much as people detest his policies is in no way comparable with the blight upon the earth that the Nazis were.
You see, they killed my family. Not my direct family, my grandfather and his brother were on a boat from poland with $20 and the clothes on their backs, but everyone else. Their aunts, uncles, cousins.... In the camps, there were three gates. The leftmost was for those healthy enough to become slaves. The middle was for attractive womwn. The right was for everyone else. For the women who went through the middle gates, they were raped by the guards, and then given to the soldiers and raped over and over until they died. The people who went to the right were shaved and then gassed and then burned. You can't compare our stupid political bickering to that.
Maybe I'm just being oversensitive; things like this don't generally bother me, but I've seen a couple of posts like that on this site in regards to the President, and it's just been eating at the back of my mind for the last couple of days. I can't say anything for the Republicans, but I hope that we would be better than that. We, the party of civil liberties. We, the party of the minority.
