I just saw the MSM today claiming that Jessica Simpson "snubbed" Dubya, which is to say that she decided that she didn't want to be associated with a purely political event (at some later point I feel that this wil be a significant touchpoint for lawsuits - how can "our" president fly all over the country on our dime when he only speaks with Republicans? Unreal, but not entirely related to what I want to talk about here). What really got me thinking is why isn't Jessica Simpson our target demographic?
Why do we as Kossaks relegate ourselves to political rallies, when the populace that really speaks to the powers that be (industrial, commercial ones) are driven by markets and markets are in turn driven by the sorts of people that listen to Jessica Simpson? Bottom line...why don't we have someone wearing an "IMPEACH" T-shirt at every showing of the Today show, and every showing of Total Request Live? As much as we ourselves like to blog with elected representatives, the commerical interest are the ones that ultimately dictate what goes on the airwaves, and thereafter, what gets airtime in the MSM! If we really want to influence how things move in this country, we need to start thinking about whether or not we're convincing Jessica Simpson that Impeachment is the right way to go.
I saw Rippe's post the other day, and I know that a lot of Kossaks are beautiful people, so those beatiful people need to start showing up in the background of TV shows with anti-Dubya t-shirts on! THAT's the way to get the message out!
