Ah Al Gore...and what could have been.

If Kerry takes a cue and talks more like Al Gore 2004 instead of Gore 2000, he'll win. I'm sorry Gore's advisors told him to shut up about the environment because voters don't care about it [supposedly]. Consultants are stupid. what i care most about in a candidate is that at least he stands for SOMETHING and is sincere about SOME issue, that he's running to improve some policy, not just for his own ego. i think that's why peopel were drawn to McCain and his campaign finance crusade, even though voters supposedly don't care about that either. And to me, Gore's heroic work on the environment since his Senate days showed me a sincere public servant with real ideals. i believe he "lost" in 2000 because too many Americans (including me by then) believed he didn't have any.
