If this has already been done, please point me to the proper web site.
Bush kicked off his "official" campaign on March 20th, although he's been going to fundraisers and engaging in stealth campaigning for over a year.
It seems to me a worthwhile goal to try to estimate how much time Bush (not campaign staff, but Bush himself) spent on his pre-campaign campaigning. It would be a worthy benchmark to compare against the time he's done things like talk to the 9-11 Commission, or make himself available for press conferences, or work on peace treaties, or whatever.
The first step would be to compile a list of events with dates and times of fundraisers that Bush himself attended, for himself or the Republican Party (not any other specific candidate), in the year preceding March 20. Does anyone know a quality source for this?
