Armando to Jesse Jackson - Huh?
Jesse as per NYT - ". . . Later, Mr. Jackson said he told Mr. Kerry in a private meeting Friday that he should try to move the public debate off the topics that the White House wants to talk about -- "taxes and terror," as he put it -- and broaden the discussion to matters like education, health care, poverty and voting rights.
Mr. Jackson met with Mr. Kerry for half an hour after Mr. Kerry held an economic forum at a job training center in West Chicago. Mr. Jackson said in a telephone interview after the meeting that he and Mr. Kerry shared the belief that black voters needed to be convinced to "vote their hopes, not their despair," and that white voters needed to "vote their economic needs, not their fears."

Now, if you don't know what I think Kerry should be talking about, read this - http://armando.dailykos.com/story/2004/4/9/14459/23035 -
Iraq. I Iraq and the BushCo failure in the War on Terror. And Iraq. and BushCo's failure in the War on Terror. Oh, and did I mention IRAQ!!!!
On the other, Obama says some great things -
". . . Mr. Obama, who if elected would become the only black member of the Senate, said blacks were "extraordinarily motivated right now" because "they are still mad about Florida," referring to the 2000 presidential election, when many minority voters said they were disenfranchised. "But my task is to galvanize that vote," he told reporters.
Mr. Obama, a state senator from Chicago, leads his Republican rival, Jack Ryan, by 19 percentage points in the most recent poll. While Mr. Obama demurred when asked if Mr. Kerry could ride his coattails in Illinois in November, Mr. Kerry told donors at a $1 million fund-raising dinner here Thursday night that he intended to do just that.. . . "
AND I especially liked this -
". . . Mr. Obama said that Democrats wanted to nail down Illinois early for Mr. Kerry so he could devote his attention to other swing states.
"We're hopeful that we can take Illinois out of play sometime during the summer," Mr. Obama said. "If we do our job over the next three months, we'd like John Kerry to come back here primarily to raise money and say hello and say thank you.""
Say and say thank you. Now how cool is that? What a great turn of phrase.
Hey, this Obama guy, he might go places.
