From Yahoo, via Raw Story, I saw that the DSCC was offering downloadable "pocket sized personal constitutions" on their site. Wow!

Hey, now there's an idea. That could come in handy at protests and happy hour! Someone gets in your face and you whip out your handy dandy copy of the constitution! "Oh yeah? Read this!"
But upon going to the site, and actually finding the damn thing (they don't make it easy!) I was sorely disappointed:
(flip!)

It's an image of the original constitution! Shrunk down to fit an 8 1/2 by 11 sheet, with the original font, in tiny, tiny print. Just to see what it would be like, I printed out the first page, and could barely read it. Big sigh.
How very frustrating. And so typical, sad to say. What I call "A good bad idea." I searched around on the site to get the contact email (once again, not easy!) and fired off an email suggesting they provide one that was in modern, bigger type in a foldable format that could actually be carried in a handbag or jacket pocket. Form follows function here people! Think graphically!
Sorry for the long links. First diary & all. Thanks for checking this out, and if you're inspired, contact them and ask for one that's actually useable. It's a great idea, but not if you have to mangle it to get in your pocket and squint to read it!
Now sing it to Depeche Mode's "Personal Jesus" tune:
"I want my own Personal Constitution...
One to read in my car, or show in the bar..."
