Let's face it....despite what the whiners at Free Republic and NewsHax say, the mainstream media is clearly shilling for BushCo.
And one pure example of that popped up this morning.
For that example, let us look at the Washington Post. The article today about a
recent Cindy Sheehan opinion poll has a headline that states'
Slight Majority Say Bush Should Meet With Sheehan
The article goes on to state...
Slightly more than half of the country says President Bush should meet with Cindy Sheehan, the mother of a soldier killed last year in Iraq, who is leading a protest against the war outside Bush's ranch in Crawford, Tex., according to a new Washington Post-ABC News poll.
Here's a graphic that they are using to show the division of the poll in question
Seems fair, doesn't it? It is, after all, slightly more than half of the country.
Then why did the same newspaper run an article about the 2004 election that states the following?
Bush claimed 51 percent of the popular vote to Kerry's 48 percent.....
With the second term that eluded his father secured, Bush pivoted to the task of trying to heal a nation that appeared on Tuesday as culturally and geographically divided as the country that produced the disputed presidential election in 2000. Vice President Cheney said that Bush had run on a clear agenda and that "the nation resounded by giving him a mandate."
Seems to me that the same newspaper that allows a 51-48 margin to be referred to as a "mandate" should apply a similiar standard to a 52-46 margin, wouldn't you agree? After all, isn't a 6% margin (52-46) actually TWICE the sixe of a 3% margin (51-48)??
Liberal media, my ass.
Start saying it LOUD AND PROUD. Cindy Sheehan has a MANDATE for her vigil. The country has said so.
