To all those who are just amazed at the last few weeks of Republican indictments, here is another one. For Oklahomans,
the 2004 $1,000,000 advertizing buy by Tom Coburn's
corrupt oil patch minions comes as no surprise.
Club for Growth funneled the money and thereby broke the law on behalf of Chesapeake Energy and their executives. Club for Growth has a brand new FEC investigation for breaking election law in Oklahoma in 2004 on behalf of Tom Coburn, but that won't stop them here, given the complete lack of press coverage. We have Oklahoma City's Daily Oklahoman, the most rabid partisan Republican rag ever, and the Tulsa World, which won't go against the Oral Roberts fundamentalists.
Maybe there is some hope that the FEC investigation will keep corporate donations within the legal limits during the 2006 election cycle.
