Today in the St Louis Post Dispatch I had the misfortune of reading the column of Charles Krauthammer. Once again he show great timing--on the day that the Israeli/Lebanon war takes a nasty turn in Qana, he calls for more of the same medicine. The title was a complete non sequitur--Israeli Soldier Die So Civilians Live.
The article didn't really follow from the title at all. He smarmily suggested that Israel should do as America did after Pearl Harbor to Japan. Reduce the enemy cities to rubble--he didn't explicitly mention nukes but oh well, reducing cities to rubble seems about the same! He also mentioned the use of precision weapons. Bwahahahah! Why do pundits cling to the myth of precision still?
I hope the brighter Israelis distance themselves somewhat from their belligerant cheerleaders in the states. The Americans cheering on the mayhem in the ME have their own revolutionary warped agenda. Anyone else see his syndicated Op Ed?
