When Santa goes over his list of state governors, I think he will be very disappointed in a quite a few, based on what he has read in the newspapers and what their constituents have been saying in their letters. Under the heading naughty I would expect to see the names:
John Rowland of Connecticut (for corruption)
Sonny Purdue of Georgia (for backtracking on the confederate flag)
The governor of Alabama (a Republican who tried to raise taxes) (what was his name?)
former governor Ryan of Illinois (for corruption)
Others who should be on this list?
Under the heading nice I would expect to find:
Joe Kernan of Indiana (for showing leadership after the death of Frank O'Bannon)
Arnie of California (for showing leadership at the moment) (call him a Howard Dean Republican)
Bill Richardson of New Mexico (not sure why, but everyone seems to love him)
Others who should be on this list?
What I'm really curious about is whether there might be some trend developing, in which state level Republican parties are perceived as weak or corrupt, and state level Democrats are perceived as strong or virtuous.
I need more data, however. Can bloggers help me out?
