Perhaps I'm a masochist, but I watched a lot of Joe Scarborough's show tonight. [I switched to it after watching the Flyers lose to the Devils, even after taking a 2-0 lead into the first intermission. It's too early in the season to call for anyone's head, but I don't think starting goalie Jeff Hackett is going to remain starting goalie for the whole season.] I saw two segments, back to back, both of which were utterly appalling.
First, Scarborough had some conservative talk radio host on. I don't know who he was, but he claimed that Michael Moore had given out his home phone number to the audience at some event he was hosting. The talk show host had received dozens of harassing phone calls, including one (the only one quoted) which included a death threat. Actually, the caller merely stated that the host would die, which is undoubtedly true, but I'm just being a stickler. It was a death threat, and as such deserves to be taken seriously. The talk show host, armed with his trusty caller-id, is pursuing criminal charges against the caller, which is his right. I can only imagine how distressed he and his family must be.
