I've been mulling this plan for a few months now. My family and I have travelled extensively in the area, and after the work and stress of the campaign, it seemed like an excellent time to get away and unwind.
We're still working on exact details, but I just wanted to post this to gauge interest. I can't think of people I'd rather spend time with than our like-minded friends here at Kos.
Also, feel free to pass this on to any of your friends.
The house will be available from late May thru August 2005 and perhaps latter if you have a need. Hopefully, we should be able to save everyone some money while having wonderful experiences. I'd love to see a french teacher, painting and cooking lessons, and road trips involved. As a family, we've lived in a number of countries, and the experience gained by staying away from big hotels and resorts is always invaluable. Talk about really getting to know a place!
You may rent a room and have the use of the entire house. Also, we hope to leave one of the rooms open for your possible guest to stay on a weekly basis. With the extra bedroom or two there should be a great chance to have a family member or friend join you. The bedrooms will accommodate 2 people. It will be a lively house and so much fun... a summer to remember.
We're still deciding on the location so please make your suggestions. I would like to find a four to five bedroom house with a lovely garden or patio and (hopefully) a pool. We're leaning towards a rural - or at least suburban - location. The quieter living, gardening, farmers markets, and pastoral nature of southern France seem like good arguments for a more rural location to us. Until I have some interested parties and their input I will hold off on making any finalized plans.
I love the idea of starting my long awaited painting lessons... We also love to play music and will bring a mandolin and guitar or two for our stay.
Please send an email to maureenmortenson@hotmail.com with your needs and interests...
Hope to hear from anyone that might be interested in exploring the opportunity that France has to offer.
Please email me for more details. Thank you!
