Last night I posted that blogactive.com is set to making two outings. One will be a huge name of someone in the closet. The second will be a re-outing of another lesser known name:
"Also, through the power of the internet, I will be sharing a story of a Congressional "outing" that took place before the web was a powerful action tool. This Congressman has racked up quite a voting record - one that even a part-time sodomite should be ashamed of! This time around, we'll be able to use the web to educate the public about this homophobic Representative." www.blogactive.com
I made a prediction: Repugnant Congressman Jim McCrery who has represented the very conservative Shreveport, Louisiana Bible Belt area for 9 terms. I have second information of him giving blowjobs to someone in that someone's mother's driveway. In fact, it's pretty well known McCrery is gay in the very small Shreveport gay community.
Today, the outing is out and I was right:

McCrery was initially elected to the House in 1988 and there were rumors then that he was gay. Then in 1992, he was outed by The Advocate. The SCLM said nothing. And he sailed to victory beating an incumbent Democrat who was redisctricted. People in the Bible Belt didn't believe the rumors because Old Jim had gotten married - for the first time - to his secretary in 1991. Nice beard his wife made.
McCrery is very homophobic and very conservative. The liberal Americans for Democratic Action gave McCrery's 2003 voting record 5 points out of 100; the American Conservative Union gave him 88 points. I'm not so in favor of outing people EXCEPT for people like him who intentionally do harm to the gay and lesbian community.
The first time he was outed, we didn't have the benefit of the net and its powered. This was hushed up by the SCLM. Times have changed!
Blogactive.com is pushing for us to be heard. He has a link to the email of many in his story: "Please use the power of the web to click here and tell Jim McCrery what you feel about his past and how he leaves gay (or is it bisexual, Jim?) men like himself and the entire GLBT community behind when he denies his past an votes as he does. Your message will be sent to the entire staff of Rep. McCreary's office and a host of newspapers in his home district (and a copy will be sent to blogACTIVE too)."
This from the USA Today about his prior outing:
"The Republican lawmaker denied allegations made during the 1988 campaign and again in the 1992 campaign that he was a homosexual.
In 1988, McCrery shook off the charges with little problem when his primary opponent, Robert Briggs, raised the issue. The same year, the congressman angered the gay community when he said a surgeon general's report on AIDS implied that "abnormal sexual activity" is acceptable.
During the 1992 campaign, the Advocate, a national gay magazine, quoted a Dallas teacher as saying he formerly had a relationship with McCrery and accusing him of pandering to his conservative constituents by opposing gay rights. McCrery and his wife, Johnette, vehemently denied the allegations." http://asp.usatoday.com/news/politicselections/CandidateProfile.aspx?ci=916&oi=H
