After some training, Hawaii is now to become the latest to send around 2000 of it's National Guard and Reserve to Iraq. The 29'th Infantry Brigage will spend at least a year in Iraq in it's first deployment since Vietnam. They will be relieving the 81st Brigade of the Washington Army National Guard.
These are the people that would also be called to help out the state should Hawaii suffer local disasters, such as the overdue tsunami, an actual local terrorist threat and other matters of state defense.
