Bush's visit to England will interrupt the proceedings in the trial of Ian Huntley, accused of murdering two 10 year-old girls in the eastern town of Soham. The delay will occur because officers in Huntley's court escort have been reassigned to the massive security detail, the largest-ever for a foreign visitor, that will protect Bush from reality during his prance through London.
The Huntley case has been the top story in the British media for the past month, when the news was broken, which, of course, begs the question: would Americans be happy if a high-profile trial, such as the ones centering around the D.C. Snipers or Kobe Bryant, were delayed for similiar reasons? For the British, I am sure that this is another strike against the already stricken Bush.
