A lot of people struggle with managing their money. I certainly have. I have improved greatly over the past fews years because my husband or I had to improve and he had no interest.
However, it was a struggle. I grew up in a frugal family so I knew how to limit my spending. But I never saws bills paid while growing up. My Dad has always paid the bills and my Mom is fine with being out of the loop.
But as an adult, I found out that I am somewhat of a procrastinator. In my early 20's, bills would just sit on my dresser whether I had the money to pay them or not. I just avoided them like the plague.
After more late fees that I care to admit, I pay bills online promptly now. And I invest in stocks and we automatically have money put into savings accounts. There is a lot more my husband and I could be doing to carefully manage our money but free classes would be great.
Free classes on money management provided in every state would be wonderful. I would go. Stocks 101. Bonds 102. Whatever.
I believe it would cut down on many government subsidized programs that are currently helping people who are struggling to get from paycheck to paycheck. It would be helping people to help themselves rather than just throwing some food stamps their way.
