There has been widespread agreement in this blog that CNN (along with other networks) produced severely biased reporting against our convention. Last night, I suggested we should go after CNN's commercial sponsor base to show muscle in our disapproval of CNN's reporting.

I collected the names of a number of commercial sponsors, and in a poll, Kossacks, by a plurality of those who participated, selected British Petroleum as the CNN sponsor they would like to nudge for CNN's misguided adventure.

And indeed, British Petroleum was one of CNN's biggest sponsors. Following the lead of my fellow Kossacks, I researched where I could let BP have a piece of my mind (which hopefully BP will share with CNN). I wrote them to tell them how disgusted I was that they sponsored CNN's phenomenally biased Kerry bashing. I have e-mailed my friends asking them to do the same, and I am hoping those of you who have not discharged your ire against BP will do so, too.
BP's comment page is:

Just so you have an example, I wrote them the following:
For the last several days, I have watched the Democratic National Convention on CNN. You sponsored their coverage of the convention, coverage that repeatedly and consistently betrayed a bias against the Democratic Party and the Democratic nominee. I and many people I know were astonished by the relentlessly negative opinions expressed in CNN's presentation of the convention. As a sponsor of their coverage of the convention, you assisted in this consistently negative interpretation of the convention events. As a lifelong Democrat, I must as a matter of conscience cease to purchase BP petroleum products, and I shall encourage other Democrats to do the same.
[I know that I have posted two diaries on this yesterday (and a fair number of comments today.) I promise that this will be the last diary I post on this subject, but I think it is something that is doable, and I want people to have a chance to participate. I haven't written a diary on the specific BP option people proposed.]
