One of the best gauges about how the country feels is by looking at how the political cartoonists portray an event. Well, I went over to Cagle's site that has all the political cartoons. What was their reaction?
John Sherffius, Boulder Daily Camera (Colorado)
Patrick O'Connor, Los Angeles Daily News
Many, many more cartoons after the fold.
First, some cartoonists still toed the GOP line and blamed it all on Democrats, like Henry Payne of the Detroit News:
#1
#2
Seriously? The torture memo guy portrayed as the innocent schoolkid being bullied? The guy who called the Geneva Conventions "quaint" is the victim?? How disconnected from reality is Payne?
Eric Allie of Chicago also pretends there's no scandal here. (Hey Eric, ever hear of "obstruction of justice", buddy?)
And Scott Stantis of The Birmingham News thinks it's nothing more than "politics".
But other than those jokers, every single other cartoonist is not as forgiving of Gonzales. Let's take a look at what people around the country are seeing.
