Somehow this is both encouraging, amusing and highly scary all at the same time.
Andrew Sullivan gives a pseudo endorsement to Howard Dean. While he gets out his usual bile, underneath all of that he has some interesting things to say about Dean's candidacy and what it has over other candidates'. Here's a quote:
I think his belief in the supreme importance of government in people's lives deserves debate, and represents what the Democratic party is ultimately about.
I went to school with Andrew and knew him vaguely from the queer group we both attended (he was in grad school and I was an undergrad). I always thought he was pretentious though cute. He's a hell of a writer. And he's whip smart. But, I think he's ultimately deluded. At least, though, he's never been afraid to say what he thinks even when it doesn't hew to a particular ideology.
So, please note that this is NOT even an implicit endorsement of Mr. Sullivan.
