I'm sick of hearing that Bush has been doing an excellent job on the War on Terrorism. Let's come up with a list of the ways Bush has been messing up the War. Off the top of my head:
Ignoring the Hart-Rudman Report on Internationl Terrorism
Ignoring the Clinton National Security teams warning that International Terrorism was the biggest threat to America
Ignoring intelligence about the hijacking of commercial airplanes during the Summer of 2001 (besides making sure Ashcroft didn't fly commercially)
Proposing a 9/10 cut to the FBI's counter-terrorism unit
Not commiting enough ground troops to capture bin Laden in Afghanistan
Bush's reluctance to support DHS, followed by his politicization of the Department
All sorts of inefficencies and mismanagement at the DHS
Ignoring Abu Musab Zarqawi's presence in Kurdish Iraq to build support for the Iraqi War
The countless alienation of allies and misuse of resources caused by the Iraq War
Refusing to meet with the whole 9/11 Commission for more than an hour
Underfunding first responders and law enforcement
Not securing our ports (see ABC News' smuggling of depleted Uranium into America)
Underutilizing Air Marshalls
Not securing nuclear components as much as possible, under the Nunn-Lugar Agreement
Not providing a key witness in the trial of Mounir al-Motassadeq, whose conviction for being a party to the 9/11 attacks was overturned by the German Supreme Court.
