I just read this diary about
Yearly Kos and diversity. It's a good diary, but it misses the point of the conference. If you want to make Yearly Kos your conference, don't just complain, make it happen.
This conference is all volunteer. Gina Cooper is working 16 hour days and taking in no income to make this happen. Lots of Democrats use the 'I'm just a volunteer' as an excuse, but that is not the case here.
This is our conference. It is our place to gather, strategize, meet each other, and learn to take power. It's ours. That means we have the right to make it what we want, but it also means that we have the responsibility to make it what we want. We do. No one else. No mythical 'establishment' is putting on Yearly Kos. We are.
So if you have a suggestion, leave it in this thread. But please also sign up to go to Yearly Kos, or if you can't, throw $50 their way.
This is our conference. We make it what we want. And here's how:
Attend.
Give.
Volunteer.
Get a sponsor.
Let's be citizens, not consumers, and make Yearly Kos great.
