Here are tonight's Top Comments! As always, the selections are completely subjective! I have invested a good deal of time in comment mining today, but the nice thing is, anyone can recommend comments! We encourage that very strongly! Please share any you find that you thought were particularly compelling!
Also, while Carnacki is still on vacation, we need another diarist or two to assist with this comment project. If you have any interest in helping us shine a spotlight on the terrific comment writing which takes place on dKos, please email me!
Now to the juicy part!
READ THIS COMMENT FIRST! Only a few moments remain to recommend this one! kestrel9000
with a cogent analysis of the state of affairs, in haiku-form! I really lucked out on this one, since it was so early, it barely qualified for tonight's Top Comments!
Read this second! Again, this fine comment, by teacherken, can only be rec'd for a short while tonight. It isa story dating back to WW II in sheddhead's fine diary on a First Amendment tour he (she?) took!
Next, savor this superb, little two-comment thread, on the sometimes disproportionate aspects of diary quality, courtesy of noweasels and Jay Elias in gloriana's excellent Top Comments diary from last night!
Let them eat carrot cake by Land of Enchantment in OrangeClouds115's latest VMD diary.
maybeeso in michigan found inspiration for a new sig line in bonddad's latest diary on national economics.
In the same diary, CD in TX asks a really penetrating question on this excellent economy! Go rec the comment and add your name to the list of those calling for a followup diary on it! (gloriana also sent me this comment. Thanks glor! Wasn't it great?)
And gloriana submitted these next two, so please give her some mojo if we can persuade her to comment on the diary, below!
Elise makes an excellent point about symbols
richter's excellent photo-comment How not to sound stupid about North Korea (from IrishKorean's diary of the same name)
The remaining comments, below, are my fault! ;-)
Patriot4peace on a possible alternate title for his fine diary, with hopes of drawing more readership during the deadly scroll in the diary list.
I really liked FireCrow's response to cshaw's heart-tugging diary about his son leaving home for school. I am not a parent, but love ALWAYS gets me. Always.
Tossup. I rarely pick highly rated comments because I feel they're already getting plenty of attention. I've made an exception this time because of how effectively the comment accomplished what basketball officials do when they toss up the ball to start a game. This comment by Elwood Dowd was just such a tossup question, in LithiumCola's diary, which does the very same thing, itself!
jimstaro, whom many of us know for his fine diaries, posted a terrific comment on Mike Ferner's arrest for wearing a "protest" t-shirt to the VA in this morning's open thread!
Finally, the Happiest comment of the day, in my book! Courtesy of Ellicatt!
Here are tonight's top five mojo-rated comments, courtesy of gloriana!
