Amnesty International cites violence against women as the most unresolved human rights issue of our time. The issue is real in Washington, New York, and Baghdad, unfortunately crossing all political stripes and persuasions. This is underscored by violence against women which functions not only as civilian terror but also as a weapon of war.
Campaigners marked International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women with marches and rallies from Africa to the Americas on Tuesday.
