Another aspect of the NSA wiretap scandal is that the NYT sat on that story for 'about a year' before publishing it. Somebody on a conservative blog was trying to get worked up over the timing of the release being immediately after relatively peaceful elections in Iraq. This, of course, misses the point that if the story had been broken in real time it would have occurred before
American elections! I firmly believe that this administration with the help of the MSM won the elections under false pretenses.
I would have to include the statement that Fitzgerald made during his press conference that had he received full cooperation during his investigation that he would be holding his press conference in the fall of 2004 instead of 2005. And again the press was involved in helping to coverup Bush's mess.
Can anybody else help me name more examples of information delayed until after the election? There simply must be more than this. These examples allow us to form an argument that the 2004 election - not a mandate by any means - was actually an uninformed choice. It was a demonstration of fear and ignorance that our free press should have taken it upon itself to dispel.
Please help with examples.
Just a thought,
