As the
battle over the Voting Rights Act reveals again this week, the US Civil War is continuing, and the Confederacy is winning. That's not a slam on the South - it's a fact that in Congress, the racists are in control. The majority of Bush's votes came from white voters in the 11 Confederate states.
These are the enemies of the US, of the 13th and 14th Amendments - as well as the 1st, 4th, 6th and 8th. They're the ones continuing the Civil War and threatening the nation. And now they're out of the closet, openly admitting they don't want oversight over whether the colored can vote.
The only reason they're winning so easily is, our side keeps pretending struggles like this one and Iraq are unrelated, and that the war with the Confederacy is over. Meanwhile they're still fighting, they're the central link in values between the wealthy, the ignorant and the intolerant, and they're gaining ground.
These are the bigots who pretend to be Christians and control the US. Many consider Iraq a messy
Pottery Barn aisle full of savages that our nigras and other colored and powerless may have to spend the next 30 years cleaning up.
Mississipi Senator Trent Lott said it of the Iraqis - "Mow the whole place down, see what happens."
Normally, flying an enemy flag - especially an enemy responsible for over 300,000 US deaths - should put you on a watch list along with Al Qaeda suspects. But since these traitors are white southerners, their opposition to US values is considered charming, and even Howard Dean courts their flag.
We have to step back, get out of denial, powerfully oppose Confederate values instead of excusing and coveting them, and start defending the United States again - or no matter how badly its leaders stumble, the Confederacy will keep winning.
