This election made it obvious: our party still needs a spine transplant. Since the election, here is what I have seen:
- The selection of Harry Reid, a mild, soft-spoken individual as senate majority leader.
- Nancy Pelosi, one of the few people in our party who periodically speaks boldly, was talking about conciliation and appeasement.
- Vilsack seriously suggesting that he wants to be DNC chair in order to preserve the Iowa caucuses.
Holy crap, dude. I thought it was bad before the election. Meanwhile, every damn blog on the face of the planet seems to be proclaiming the same thing...
Kos: "Reform versus status quo. We know what the status quo has wrought. Time for reform."
Atrios: "Stop. Blaming. The. Victim. You fucking morons."
Chris of MyDD: "The only way we do this is if all Democrats, including moderate Democrats, start defending liberalism."
Digby: "We are beginning to look like Charlie Brown with the football."
Here's my question: what do we have to do to get through to our leaders? Do they even represent us at all? I'm getting very aggravated.
I think it's about time for a massive letter-and-telephone campaign.
On that note, here is a repost of the list of DNC delegates. I found that several of these guys are in the phone-book.
