Kerry in the NYTimes this morning
"I don't think you win elections by throwing out what we believe as Democrats," Mr. Kerry said regarding Dr. Dean's urging this week that his supporters vote to have the campaign abandon the public-financing system, a change from Dr. Dean's previous promise to participate.
Mr. Kerry said:
"I don't think that's straight talk. I think that's frankly saying anything to get elected."
The senator also said that if Dr. Dean chooses to forego public matching funds in order to break the spending limits in the primaries, he would likely do so as well.
