I don't have any particular insight into Dean's veep thinking. And given that no one has wrapped up the nomination, I doubt his campaign has done anything more than lay some preliminary groundwork on the issue.
But I do want to slap this one down early -- Edwards will not be Dean's veep. I think Graham has more of a shot than Edwards, who is by all indications still a political novice. Given Edwards' anemic poll numbers in just about every southern state outside of the Carolinas, he simply hasn't proven he can deliver anything to the nominee.
So why all the googly eyes at the Iowa debate? Because Edwards is unemployed, and there are more jobs than one in a Dean administration. High-profile jobs that could serve as a springboard for future political ambitions.
Like Attorney General.
