This is addressed mainly to Dean supporters. Jesus Christ people. Dean loses Iowa, a place that he only showed ahead in a couple polls, and suddenly everyone is gloom and doom.
Try being a Gephardt supporter. He's dropping out. There is no comeback for him. THAT is disheartening. That is an incredible loss. Try being Gephardt!
Politics is not a sport for the weak of heart. You'd think that because Dean lost Iowa, a state that has only once(unless you count BushJR) been predictive of the ultimate winner.
There's other fights. NH is coming. Super Tuesday is coming.
People are going to gloat. People are going to predict Dean's demise. People are going to laugh, and stick a fork in Dean and call us idiots for backing a "loser".
This is all far from over. We've got a lot of fun and excitement to look forward to. Dean is one of the only people with a national campaign, and his primary competitor on that front just got a shit load of competition he didn't want.
Things are looking good. Just don't all run crying and hiding because of this. We've got a lot to be proud of, and alot to work for. Now is when we need to be vigilant, and harder working than ever.
And if you didn't like his speech, fine. He wasn't angry sounding to me. If you want to buy into that media driven meme, that's fine. But he's the same Dean that we've always had. He's riling up the base, and he appeared jubilant to me. Send your feedback, write your letters, but for the love of god, don't give up.
And to all of you out there, regardless of who you're supporting. Suck it up. Let's get going. Pat yourselves on the back, cry into your beer, whatever. Let's not forget what we're here for.
To beat Bush. Not to jab each other over one state here or there, or to just give up. We're fighting a war here, and this was just the first front.
Let's keep rolling folks.
