I have an online acquaintance who has spent much of the past year defending Bush endlessly and rambling on about how Bush is sure to win, blah, blah. It certainly seemed a major focus for him to show why Bush was
the candidate and simply had to win or it would mean victory for "Islamofacism." (What the hell does that mean anyway? Is there Christofacism that is inherently superior or something?)
So, I happened today upon something he posted ...
He said he wasn't as apprehensive as he might be about the results of the election because either way the Republic will carry on. He called it un-American to put too much stock in the outcome of any election, as, after all, no single outcome is really make or break for the system.
So, it's gone from "9/11 changed everything and justified all of my political beliefs and everyone should be able to see that if Bush loses the terrorists win" to "this is just another election."
It warmed my heart.
