Anybody else with me on this one?
I hate everything about them. They way they look, the way they sound, their little textured rubber buttons, the way they spit out as many errors as they do faxes.
I much prefer to get an e-mail or an honest-to-God letter than to get a fax. E-mails are instant gratification. Letters are highly personal. Faxes are somewhere in between. They say to me, "You're neither too important to me for me to dedicate the time to send you a real piece of mail, nor do I consider communicating with you important enough to send this to you in the fastest way."
All-in-all, the first hour of my workday has been fairly Office Space-esque, so I thought I'd get into the spirit of the movie and complain. A fax machine that doesn't work, a boss who dumped all the work he was supposed to do for yesterday onto me to do, today, and a receptionist with the world's most grating voice.
I gotta find me a new line of work.
