While everyone is pounding the Net Neutality question into the dust, hardly anyone is paying to attention to all the controversy over how the FCC auctions off wireless spectrum. This week FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein blasted the FCC for not dealing with small business "Designated Entity (DE)" companies that watchdog groups say are really connected to larger firms, taking advantage of small business auction discounts. Here's what Adelstein had to say today about the upcoming Advanced Wireless Auction:
It truly was stunning that my colleagues did not take action to specifically address the single biggest issue facing the DE program given the overwhelming support in the record to do so. We missed a real opportunity to shut down what almost everyone recognizes has the potential for the largest abuse of our DE program.
