Well, I'm not ashamed to say it...
Al Gore wins! Yes, ladies and gentleman the once and future, not to mention actually
elected President beat Wes Clark in the Dembracket competition.
I know you want to get up and cheer!
No doubt it's tough not to be sitting in an elected office for Vice-President Gore. He does not have direct effect on policy like he had for so many years. Now and for the first time in his life, he's an outsider. But that's not stopping him from winning this poll! What did it, I wonder...
Could it be his speech?
Or perhaps his actions?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Previous Poll Topic: Championship
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Gore, Al (TN) 53.3% - (741 Votes)
Clark, Wesley (AR) 46.6% - (647 Votes)
Total Votes: 1388
Victory is great. However, what does it mean? Will it mean that Vice-President Gore gets the hint that people (like the voters on the poll) want him to run? Perhaps the groundswell of the Net will catapult him as a true opposition figure this country is crying out for in the wake of the abject failures and horrific neglect of this criminal administration.
That's what I feel his true role is now. As a de facto opposition leader he speaks with authority that others who have been in the arena do not possess. When Al talks, people listen.
We're going to need him to continue doing what he occasionally does, that is, speak out as forcefully as possible. They're scared of Al, it's clear. Scott Mclellan puffs and blusters every time he speaks. It's really quite sad...
But if you want to get involved with Gore for Prez or just to trumpet Al, you can contact folks like Neuvoliberal, et. al. for the place to do it.
