I was a big Kerry supporter in the campaign. He is right to raise voting issues. However, the problem for him is this just sounds like sour grapes and he comes across looking like a sore loser.
The dirty-tricks done by the GOP is not a new concept. Everyone KNOWS about it. Kerry should had some effort to counter it.
People should have been assigned to figure out:
- tricks that Bush-Cheney supporters will possibly do
- a strategy to counter these tricks.
- in parallel, a strategy to create some tricks of his own.
As far as I know, he did not do anything like this. Why? Goodness knows he had enough cash on hand...
PS: FWIW - personally, I think Kerry would have been a GREAT president. However, he is not the best campaigner; and you need to be a good campaigner to become president.
GW Bush, for example, is a very good campaigner - but a terrible president.
Clinton was an example of an excellent campaigner AND president.
