Yup. Obama is scaring a lot of white boys right now. Even white boys who never thought they were racist are coming up with reasons why Obama shouldn’t be elected.

Some of my friends have been furiously coming up with numerous reasons why they believe Obama is the wrong choice. None of the reasons are valid; they are all ruled by deep, denied racism and fear that they will be marginalized as African-Americans have been.

We’re going to see a lot of it, an awful, horrible amount over the next few months. But racists are just bullies; stand up to them and they can’t stand it. I have a feeling that Obama knows how to handle it. But yes, it will certainly get very ugly.

Think Progress and the Sleuth @Wapo reported the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) received an offensive t-shirt in the mail; the shirt had "a cartoon image of Curious George, the beloved children’s character, with a paper bag over his head holding a sign that says ‘A Truth We Can Believe in ‘08!!!’ written underneath."
The t-shirt was made by a company called Spring River Tees, which also on its Web site sells "Obama in '08" t-shirts that depict Curious George. The "truth-we-can-believe-in" t-shirt that the CBCF received is also sold on the web site, titled "Hussein," which is Obama's middle name.
