ABC reports tonight the Bush budget reduces the agriculture budget by 7% while increasing the budget deficit to half a trillion dollars.
AND... it does not include a projected $50 billion additional appropriation for Afghanistan and Iraq. The administration was very foolish not to have asked for $137 billion last year; most people, after all, can't comprehend the difference between a billion and a million, and the bad publicity would have been over and done with.
But to ask for $50 billion more for foreign countries even later in an election year marked by a jobless "recovery" is a big, big, big mistake. It won't even play well in the Confederacy.
