So, I'm a college senior about to graduate and I'm thinking about getting a car. Nothing fancy, in fact I will probably buy a used car. I started thinking about what I would like: Civic, Jetta, you know something reliable and kindof nice looking.
And then, I talked to my boss (I currently intern for a Democratic media consultant). Appearantly, if I want to work in Dem. party politics at any point in the near future, I need to buy America.
Now, what does this really mean. Must the car be made in America, because I am afraid that may limit the field way too much. How about if the car is just owned by an American company: a la Ford owning Volvo.
I figure probably not. If the goal is to impress low wage union workers, they are probably not going to know that Ford owns Volvo.
So I came up with a few options. Take the poll and let me know if there are any others you would suggest.
Thanks.
ps. I hate SUVs and need a car that a 6' tall person can fit in, ie no little coupes.
