Former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean will meet next week with presumptive Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry to discuss ways to help him beat President Bush in November. "I'm going to visit him next week in Boston to try to map out what we can do to make sure the president does end up with a lengthy vacation," Dean told a crowd of 60 supporters at a Meetup gathering in Burlington on Wednesday.
Dean mentioned the plan for the meeting while telling the supporters about a phone conversation he had with Kerry earlier in the day. Before he withdrew from the race last month, Dean was the Massachusetts senator's sharpest critic, attacking him as too much of a Washington insider to stand up to Bush.
Kerrys is such a dick
Dean said that during his chat with Kerry, he mentioned he was going to be celebrating his own win Wednesday night, at which point he said Kerry responded "Oh, really." "I said, 'Yes, I did win a primary,'" Dean said, laughing. Dean, an early front-runner in the race, failed to win a primary or caucus while an active candidate.
I'm sure I'm not the only one relieved to hear that Dean has no plans to perform fellatio on him.
Dean said after the meeting that although he was eager to help Kerry win, he had no plans to release his contributors list or the names of the 640,000 people who signed up to support him. Party officials have been urging him to relinquish the list, which is highly valued because it contains many newcomers to politics, especially younger voters. "We're certainly going to help the Democratic nominee, but we don't give away mailing lists," Dean said. "We'll be the ones that work the list. People who signed up do not have to fear they'll get solicitations from people they never heard of."
