This is my first diary entry, so be kind.
There are so many numerous and horrific political things happening so fast, it's almost beyond the ability of most people to grasp. It's like sitting at a train crossing watching a freight train pass swiftly by while trying to read their placards. By the time you've mustered up the focus to read one train's sign, three more have passed leaving only a vague idea. Bad metaphor? Sorry.
But here's something that's slipped past my mind in the past few weeks and I'm surprised I've not read anything about in DK or anwhere else for that matter. Remember back in latter weeks of 2005 (November? December?) when Harry Reid staged the Senate walk-out, only coming back when the Senate was promised in two weeks' time that the Intelligence committe would have a specific timetable for investigating pre-Iraq war handling of intelligence? Have I missed it amid the Abramoff-Plamegate-Katrina-NSF Spying-Alito-etc.-etc. mess?
