I was hitting through some sites this morning and just happened to focus in on their blogroll's. I like to get a look at things from as many sides as I can and found it pretty interesting how people like to pick sides and then identify their site (and in turn identify themselves) with what they see as identifier's from their side.
From the right I took a random blogroll my comments in panthesis:
* Ace of Spades (A military calling card)
* InstaPundit

* Oh! That Liberal Media (Of course the right accuses the media of being liberal)
* Memeorandum
* Iberiannotes
* Inoperable Terran
* Samizdata
* Harry's Place
* The Anti-Idiotarian Rottweiler (If you're not on the right you are an idiot and therefore will get a dog sicked on your ass)
* Little Green Footballs
* The American Thinker (If you're not on the right then your thinking is wrong)
* DEBKafile
* The Belmont Club
* Steyn Online
* Frontpagemag
* Chrenkoff
* Johnny Dollar
* Lileks
* Medienkritik
* Patterico

* Move America Forward (Lots of movement and change on the right)
* Alpha Patriot (More patriots)
* News Busters (More media bias)
* Gateway Pundit
* My son's blog
* Drinking from home

So on the right we have patriots and military and an obvious rebuttal to the media which is liberal and therefore cannot be trusted.
On the left I took a random blogroll and:
* Agonist (The left is always stirring shit up..or so they think)
* Ain't No Bad Dude (More stirring)

* American Street (More Americans)

* Jesus' General (This shit is just pure funny)
* Joe Trippi (The left love to get their name out there)

* Patriot Watch ( a single patriot on the left)
* Roger Ailes (and again)
* Sirota Blog (and again)
* TPM Cafe (Lots of coffee on both sides)
* War and Piece (clever............no)
* World O' Crap (exactly)
So what have we learned? The right are patriots and strong and the left is looking for name recognition and trying to prove how clever they are. They both hate the media and lay claim to the fact that they are getting screwed and in the end they are both right and both wrong. Both left and both right. I only bring this whole topic up to shine a light on the fact that we are killing ourselved with these (R) and (D) tags and that these tags have rolled over into every day blogs. Of course this is nothing new but it is old and tired and doing nobody any good. So when the Democrats take back the house and the presidency then they will fuck up somewhere down the line as well and more blogs with patriotic and catchy and clever names will opine on who is right and who is wrong and in the meantime I am going fishing.
