I know that most of us here have known this for the longest time but this just seals the deal. Earlier today Bush was down in Mississippi doing another one of his photo-ops to try and make it look like he really cares but looking at this report from the Associated Press I'm left wondering why the man even bothers to go down there...
On Bush's last stop of the day, he walked a middle-class Poplarville street of tidy ranch homes and commiserated with residents. Unlike many other places in the hurricane zone, the homes were intact, with downed trees and power lines the only evidence of the storm.
Bush is commiserating with the wrong people! There are people who lost everything they had due to Bush's incompetence but Shrub would rather tour a middle-class neighborhood than visit the true victims of hurricane Katrina.
Bush isn't one to listen to criticism and he certainly isn't one to care about his people. Americans have been left behind in the gulf but the only thing that Bush cares about is getting his cute photo-op with a few rich neighbors in Mississippi.

Now this isn't the first time that shit like this has happened. When US politicians visit Iraq they stay in the "Green Zone", safe from any car bombs or IEDs. After getting a false sense of security from the "Green Zone" those same politicians come back and show up on the Sunday talk shows to tell us about how much "progress" Iraq is making.
If Bush wants to "commiserate" with Americans he should go down to Houston and meet with the real victims of Katrina instead of meeting with people who have no idea what its like to lose their home, their family and their life.
