Hello neighbors--
Just wanted to make interested parties aware of the upcoming Emergency Town Hall on Domestic Surveillance that was just sent to me by the ACLU.
From their email:
Speakers:
Congressman Ed Markey (D-MA)
Marc Rotenberg, Executive Director of the Electronic Privacy Information Center (EPIC), Washington, DC
Carol Rose, Executive Director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Massachusetts (ACLU-MA)
Wednesday, January 4th, 2006, 7PM-9PM
The National Heritage Museum
33 Marrett Road (at the intersection of Route 2A and Massachusetts Avenue)
Lexington, Massachusetts 02421
We also encourage you to call your Senators and urge them to request that the Department of Justice appoint a special counsel to investigate any and all criminal acts committed by any member of the Executive Branch who may have been involved in the authorization of warrentless electronic surveillance of people within the United States, including U.S. citizens, by the National Security Agency.
Call Senator Edward Kennedy at (202) 224-4543 and Senator John Kerry at (202) 224-2742 today!
If you are in or near Lexington, you might want to check this out. Not only will it be interesting, but I would expect it would get some nice press coverage. A good turnout would be an excellent demonstration of your patriotism!
I felt it was my duty to tell you this, as I live on the street that Paul Revere actually rode down on his way to Lexington. Also, keep in mind that this event is being held in the cradle of the fight against King George....
How can you resist?
And anyone from Somerville/Medford interested in going? I got room.
We the people...c'mon, sing along with me...
